please think about of cleaning up the package tree and remove useless packages like php* mysql/postgresql...

its pointless to run such programs on a router and its even more stupid to maintain them.

It may be pointless to run it on a router, but I am really confident, that they are needed for an embedded device. FreeWRT is a meta distribution, and I know at least two projects which using php or mysql on some embedded device. If you don't need it, just ignore it.

And there are many router compliant applications, which need mysql or postgresql libraries. Think about snort, which could be used for network analysis and report his results to a central database, either postgresql or mysql.
